Quartzite

Often called “the granite that looks like marble”, quartzite is very durable and stronger than granite in Mohs scale. Due to its dynamic surface patterns, quartzite looks more like marble but bears qualities of granite. Pure quartzite is usually white to gray, though it is often occurs in various shades of pink and red due to varying amounts of iron oxide. Hardness of quartzite makes it extremely resistant to water absorption, heat, & scratches therefore makes it ideal for countertops.
